Admittedly, becoming a full member requires many hours in the booth, demonstration of professional expertise and adherence to stringent ethical standard. AIIC applicants must be sponsored by established members who vouch for their working languages and their professional ethics.
Given the difficulty of fulfilling all prerequisites, the pre-candidate status has been established as an intermediate step for interpreters who are committed to the Association’s core values and principles, enabling them to benefit from being part of the AIIC family.
